Dark Heart Designs Halloween On Christmas Swatchlove!

So, it is finally sunny here again and what a bright sun it is. Today I have a bright and gorgeous new collection from one of my favorite companies, Dark Heart Designs. This collection is based off of The Nightmare Before Christmas. One thing I really love about this collection is that it isn't like your normal Christmas collection of colors. But you will have to see to believe me =].

Shadow Amount - 0.20g of shadow in a 3g clamshell

Price - $9.99 + $2.50 Shipping

Extra - 1 Unlabeled Shadow

Boogie Man - is a bright green gel liner with pink and blue shifts. It is really amazing looking and is a must buy in my book.
Mad Scientist - is a bright blue/grey gel liner with gold sparklies.

Barrel - is a dark purple semi-sheer gloss with purple sparklies. The gloss in general isn't sticky and is really smooth and feels very weightless on the lips. It feels more like a lip balm then a gloss to me.
Lock - is a bright red semi-opaque gloss  with a pink shift.
Shock - is a greyed purple sheer gloss with blue sparklies. On the lips it looks like a nude.

Barrel

Lock

Shock

The Mayor - is a really sparklie pale orange/beige with subtle purple sparklies.
Bone Daddy - is a white with a strong orange shift. In other lights it looks almost like a light grey.

Ghost Dog - is a satin white with a slight red shift.
Unknown??? - was the unlabeled shadow I received. It is a bright red with blue and light blue sparklies. It is awesome what ever color this happens to be.
Rag Doll - is a light teal with pink sparklies. Another going on the definite buy list.

My Favorites: Rag Doll, Unknown???, Bone Daddy, Lock, Shock, Boogie Man, Mad Scientist.

Dark Heart Designs has come along way since their closing and I am really glad they have changed for the better. Tina has officially reformulated all of the shadows and is now reformulating the glosses. I will definitely be making some full sized purchases from this collection. So, go check em out!

Dark Heart Designs Gel Liner Review!

This is slightly overdue, but I ordered some of the new Lip Slicks from Tina of Dark Heart Designs. When I received my order (which took a little while longer then I expected but they were pre-order so I didn't mind) I got a free full sized gel liner in Monster. (this review will be unbiased towards the fact that I received this product for free.) Monster is black with red and purple sparkles. This makes it different from any normal gel eyeliner. Also, the formula I received was slightly liquid like which I was excited to try. So in order to review the liner I decided to so a crease test. I took pictures every 2 hours without primer.
One of the only problems I had with the formula was that it didn't apply very pigmented and evenly and I had to layer on the liner in order to get a opaque line.
Please excuse the horrible application

2 hours later. Some creasing but not very noticeable.

2 hours later. You can see some noticeable creasing now ans some parts of the liner have faded.

2 hours later. Very noticeable creasing now.

I feel like if you applied this over a shadow or primer this would hold better. The only problem I have with this product is that it is too liquid like. If it were a little more solid and applied more opaque I would adore it. Right now, I like it, but it is a maybe buy for me.

Dark Heart Designs Revisited!

Dark Heart Designs has been one of my favorite companies since I started using Mineral Makeup and when I heard she was revamping her line, I was extremely excited. She told me she was trying to make her e/s more dynamic and she redid all of her colors and added a new base to them. So, I thought I would revisit DHD and compare her old shadows and her new shadows. Unfortunately, I ran out of my favorite color, Moonchild, in the old style so I can't compare that one, but I swatched the new one to show you.

Heres the comparison.
*no primer*

The New one has some sparklies in it that the Old one doesn't. The New one is also slightly darker than the Old one. I love them both equally =].

The New one has more purple undertones to it which will actually bring out anyone with brown eyes. The New one seems more matte than the Old one. I definitely like the New one better.

The New one is definitely darker than the old one. The New one has a lot more pigmentation and a little bit of gold on it. The Old one seems very flat compared to the New one. The New one wins for me.

The New Absinthe is very similar to the old one. The base makes it stay on the hand a little better but color wise, I didn't see too much of a difference. But i loved Absinthe to begin with. So I'm happy =].

Now, I know I don't have the Old one to compare it to, but the New one has gold sparklies in it which definitely adds some dynamics to it. I love the Old and the New Moonchild, but I ran out of the Old one.

As you can obviously see, the New one is way more pigmented than the Old one. The New one also has some gorgeous sparklies in it which the Old one lacks. Now, this color is my favorite blue with my very brown eyes. I haven't tried the New one yet. But i can't wait.

Now this one is the biggest difference with what I've seen. The New one is waaayyy more white/silver than the Old one was. The Old one was a blue silver which I adored to death. But the New one is more a silver. You can really see the color difference in the pictures below. I personally miss the blue from the Old one. So Old wins this color.

Now that you've seen her new colors. I am loving most of the new ones! She also has new Lip Slicks coming out (these things are my favorite things on the planet)! Also, I heard she is branching into gel eyeliner, nail polish, and lip sticks. =] What a woman!

Last few weeks!

I feel terrible for the lack of posting..ugh. But I'm doing well. I basically fractured my ankle and have been performing on stage all week. Also, its finals week for me. But i thought u'd like to see some progress of what I've been doing.  On Friday I performed in a concert and I decided to do a really simple but pretty makeup look for it.
I used:
Dark Heart Designs Moonchild
MAC Carbon
UDPP in Sin
D.J.V Fiberwig Mascara
Sephora Mineral Foundation
Clinique Blended Face Powder in Transparency Neuteral
MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Sunbasque
Hard Candy Fox in a Box Blush in Skinny Dipping (Peach Side)
Evil Shades Matte Silk

Now i didnt use and lip products. Why? because i had a whistling solo. and Its sometimes hard to whistle wit lip products on.

And here is what it came down to. This is my Senior Solo. I had 5 solos that night. This was my main one. If i can find the other ones I'll post em too. =]
