Swatch-a-Day 8

*this product was purchased by me!*

Sorry this is getting posted so late. The boyfriend came over and surprised me! Also I have been working hard on my summer classes and preparing for my first day of work tomorrow! My allergies are killing me! Ugh!

Today's swatch is from Innocent + Twisted Alchemy. The sample I have for you today is called Lavish Lollipops. It is described as "Mauve pink that has a lavender undertone with a strong gold duochrome and gold shimmers." (from the website)

Here it is!

Isn't it pretty!

Left shows the shadow bare
Right shows the shadow with LA Splash Sealer/Base under it

This is a super gorgeous color that might just make it into my work makeup!

I decided to start including the labels...thoughts?

Well I start work tomorrow so their may or may not be a swatch-a-day tomorrow but I will gladly try!!

Swatch-a-Day 7!!

*This product was purchased by me!*

Oh my goodness! It has been a week since I started this! I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that helped me get back on my feet. =]

Today I have Dawn Eyes Cosmetics Matte Lime Green. Now this green isn't the lime color that I am familiar with. When I think of lime I think of bright green. This lime is darker and more like a duller version of a lime's skin.

I actually like this color but I wish it wasn't so hard of a matte.

Left shows the shadow bare
Right shows the shadow over LA Splash Sealer/Base

Like I said, this is a really cute color but just kind of rough. Maybe I will just have to play with it more.

Swatch-a-Day 6

*This product was purchased by me!*

Hello! Today was rather nice day so I went out and ran some errands. Right now I am sipping some coffee and enjoying my day.

Today's swatch is from The Chequered Lily. Black Valentine can be described by the owner as "Velvety dark black with loads of ruby and scarlet glitter."

Left shows the shadow on its own
Right shows the shadow with LA Splash Sealer/Base (You can see the glitter better)

This would definitely make an amazing crease shadow.

Personal fun: I got a job! Huzzah!

See you tomorrow!

Swatch-a-Day 4+5

*This product was purchased by me*

Happy Mothers Day!!

Technically this was supposed to be done Saturday but it was so rainy I couldn't even get a good light for the picture. So today I bring you two shadows that are super pretty in their own way.

First up I have Detrivore's Exhumation which is from the Graveyard Collection.

According to Detrivore's website, Exhumation is described as "a light taupe brown".

Left shows it without primer
Right shows it with LA Splash Sealer/Base

The next shadow I have for you is from Antoinette's Revolution Cosmetics. This shop closed down quite a long time ago but she made some of my favorite colors to date. This one is no exception.

I have been a huge fan of antique golds for quite awhile for winter and fall.

I would describe this shadow as an antique gold with some bronze qualities.

Left shows the shadow bare
Right shows the shadow with LA Splash Sealer/Base under it

I hope you enjoyed today's swatches! See you tomorrow!

Swatch-A-Day 3

*this product was purchased by me!*

Hi! Today is finally a sunny and pretty day, yet I am stuck inside working. =/ Not to fear! I still have today's swatch!

When going through my purple eye shadow bin I came across a color I wore multiple times during the fall: Meow Cosmetic's Chupacabra from the X collection.

This color is a dark purple with a more vibrant purple shift with some glitter. It is very satin-y.

Left shows the shadow without primer
Right shows the shadow with LA Splash Sealer/Base under it

Personal fun: Had another job interview yesterday, I hope I got the job! I have another next week that I hope works our as well. I am still fighting with a professor over a grade and am now probably going to contact the dean. I am working hard on my summer courses so I can get the A's for those. I will probably paint my nails a pretty color later, right now they are dark taupe. Finally I am probably going to see Iron Man 3 with the boyfriend tomorrow and go out to dinner and such.

Ta ta for now!

Swatch-a-Day 2!

*This product was purchased by me*

Hello again! Today is another rainy day but none-the-less, I have a swatch for you!

Today's swatch is from Aromaleigh V1 (before the closed and reopened) called Brazen & Bitten from her Victoria's Revenge.

While I cannot find the company's description, this shadow is a fiery orange with orange glitter.

Now that my dad decided to storm into my room saying I am being a lazy person for taking a 10 minute break, here are the pictures.

Left shows it without primer
Right shows it under LA Cosmetics Sealer/Base in all it's glory.

Well it looks like I am being lazy by not working.

Back to work.

Swatch-a-Day 1

*I was given this for review*

Hello! So to kick off my Swatch-a-Day's I have reached into the depths of my collection (blues specifically) and grabbed one from the bottom of the basket.

Today I have for you Venomous Cosmetics Blue-Ringed Octopus. This shadow was given to me when I first started blogging.

According to Venomous Cosmetics, Blue-Ringed Octopus is described as a Intense blue satin. It definitely is!

Inside its adorable clam shell

Without primer

with LA Cosmetics Sealer/Base

My opinion: I rather like this color, it is simple, vibrant, and a fantastic summer color!

Personal fun: I just signed up for summer courses, had a phone interview with Nordstrom today that I think went pretty well. Now I just wait until an hour or so then I get to go get ice cream with the boyfriend.

Hope you enjoyed today's swatch! See you tomorrow!

Love,
Taryn

Hello again

Hello everyone! It has really been awhile. For the longest time I was thinking of officially shutting down my blog since I am banned from buying any more cosmetics (mostly eye shadows since I have over 1000) but now I feel I should officially reopen my blog not only on a cosmetic level but on a personal level as well.

I plan on doing a very large blog sale to downsize my collection so I can help pay for my college summer classes and groceries when I get back to school.

I also plan to do something called a swatch a day. To get me back into blogging (as a habit) everyday I will pick a random eye shadow, swatch it, tell you some information about it and post it. Now with my possibly summer classes and job on the way, this might pose a challenge so if I can't do one everyday I will chose a day and post seven swatches so it is almost like Swatch-a-day (thinking of a name..thoughts?).

To update since I last wrote, I have been doing better. I took some therapy, did some thinking about life, changed into someone I am happy with, and finally figured out what I want to do with me life. Things are mostly going better minus the few, large bumps here and there but I am trying my hardest. Thank you to everyone who has believed in me.

Finally, I will make sure my enthusiasm stays alive and well including my awkward posts.

Love,
Taryn

Some Explanations

Hello! I know it has been awhile. I am officially back in college and I've been working really hard to get the grades that I should be getting. I have also lost the lust to blog as of recently due to some major self issues in my life. I am working through them with the help of therapy from the school but it is rather hard because I don't know exactly what is wrong. I feel broken even though I am happy and I have been happy for the last year and a half. So I am giving my notice for the time being (however long that may be) until I can finally admit that I am stable again. I apologize for the late notice but I will admit my life has taken one of the sharpest turns and then I accelerated too fast and fell off the guard rail then rolled down a hill getting hit by trees and rocks. Now I am beginning to climb back up the hill to try that turn again.

Thank you for your patience.

My Pretty Zombie Easter Collection!

Hey! So I am being a lump and watching Jerry Springer cause it's on TV and I don't feel like moving. I also have a giant headache so this won't be very long. So today I have some swatches from My Pretty Zombie's LE Easter Collection. This collection is really diverse and is only around once a year. Some of the colors were amazing and some I am a little iffy on. But they are all gorgeous none-the-less.

~all these swatches were done without primer and in the bright bright sun~

I do love the square jars =].

Deviled Egg is a satiny yellow. It is rather plain to me.

Ham is a bright red with a gold shift. This is so pretty!

Rabbits Foot is a semi-matte lilac with some pink glitter. This one is my favorite!

Dye! Dye! is a metallic sky blue with some silver qualities.

Basket Case is a shimmery green that has some blue qualities in it.

Peepshow is an interesting color. It is a shimmery white with blue glitter. The glitter didn't really show up here though, sadly.

Scurvy is a bright orange with a gold shift. This color is really awesome.

So here we are. This collection (minus Scurvy) show up once a year around Easter. This headache doesn't seem like its going away anytime soon. Time to take some medication.

Chinovi Swatches!

Herro! It is the morning time here. The boyfriend is home but has errands to do til this afternoon, so I thought...hey what the hell, I'll blog! So today I have some awesome Chinovi Cosmetics swatches. I personally love this company (but I love many companies, how can I not XD They make shiny things.). Some of these colors are from the Grand Opening Collection. Also, I am loving the Hobbit.

~These were swatched with no primer and taken in direct sunlight. These might look different from my normal swatches cause I took swatched these with my opposite hand.~

I still love these labels.

Alien is hard to take pictures of! It is a light gold with a strong green shift. I tried to get the shift but it wouldn't take =/.

Launch is a really pastel pink with a slight orange shift and blue sparklies. This color is gorgeous!

80's Prom is a gorgeous silvery-blue color. I have been loving these colors lately.

Commence is a dark taupe-y color with tons of sparklies!

Yellow Bird is a satin-y bright yellow.

I am really in love with these colors. Some of them have made their way into my daily routine. Now I have to go get the mail, and prepare to see the boyfriend XD. Tata for now. =]

Black Rose Minerals Swatches!

Hello Darlings! My internet has been going in and out due to the obnoxious heat so I am taking the neighbors internet for now XD. Thank you neighbors. Today I have for you some Black Rose Minerals swatches! I have some samples from the New Righteous Collex and some of the new blushes!!!

If you don't know, I am a huge giant fan of Adventure Time. It is one of the many things that brought my boyfriend and I together and it makes me laugh when I ma in the worse of moods.

Without further ado (since I am reading a really cool book that I want to get back tooooo)

~these were swatched with no primer and in sunlight~

I adore the Righteousness collection label.

Finn is a sunflower yellow with gold glitter...JUST LIKE FINN'S HAIR.

Princess Bubblegum, oh how I wish I was made of bubblegum, is a semi-sheer candy pink.

Now I had a sample of Marceline and a swatch picture of it, but it refused to load.
Marceline is a grey matte with purple glitter.

Mathmatical is an opaque white with some white and rainbow sparklies. It reminds me a lot of Aromaleigh V.1 Slyph.

Jake is the compliment color to Finn. It is a bright orange with gold glitter. Of course Jake would compliment Finn, they are best friends.

Now for the blushes I decided I would do I blush brush stroke on the left and a eye shadow brush stroke on the right.
Junkie is a gorgeous coral color with some gold glitter and a little bit of rainbow glitter as well.

Bloody is a blood red (lolz) with lots and lots of rainbow sparklies.

Radical is a more pink version of Junkie and has lots and lots of gold sparklies.

I really love these blushes but I wish they were more satiny and less sparkly. But thats my thing.

I love everything. I will definately be grabbing full sizes of the other two blushes when I run outta my samples. Now, back to reading my new Stephen Hawking book then onto the Hobbit! Then onto my Nook books (I just downloaded a buncha Holly Black books). Since I finished my summer classes, I will be on a reading binge. =P

The Body Needs Swatches!

So, today I am watching What Not to Wear, smothered in Snayke Oyle (no snakes were harmed), finishing up my summer classes (THANK GOODNESS), wanting to read a book, and ready to show some swatches of The Body Needs stuff! Now, I would do a full on review but I am lazy and this store sells so much stuff! But awhile ago I saw they made a MAC Saint Germain dupe. Saint Germain has been on my lemming list (in my mind) for the longest time and I knew I had to get this dupe. While there I saw they had a Nars Orgasm dupe as well, so I grabbed that. Finally I picked up some Blemish Cover to stick in my bag =]

~These picks were taken in sunlight~

Tokyo Pink is a creamy light pink. Unfortunately I don't have Saint Germain to do a comparison but I really like this color.

The Blemish Cover is really creamy, like almost too creamy. In the picture below I put and smoothed some onto my extreme red KP spots and it took some of the redness away but as you can see not all. I will still stick this in my bag for emergencies but sadly, I don't like this too much.

On the left is Sinful used with my blush brush and on the right it is used with an eye shadow brush. This blush is actually pretty colorless and is mostly gold shine. I actually don't mind it though. Since I have rather pink cheeks to begin with it brought out their natural color but added some gold sparkle.

There were some great and not so great things going on, but, for the price it was worth it. I can see myself reaching for Tokyo Rose often and for the blush. Sadly I think the Blemish Cover is too creamy for my oily skin.

I really want some cake.

Hello! I am finally catching up on my blog posts! I would be swatching right now, but the sun has disappeared behind clouds =/. So I am sitting here, watching Merlin (pretty good show), finishing the last dribble of Coke Zero Vanilla, and trying to figure out what I am bringing on my vacation.

Health Pack is a metallic red color. It reminds me of my hair right now XD.

It's a Trap is a light green with a gold shift. This is such an awesome color.

The Fett is a plummy color with a slight blue shift.

Lightsaber is a bright silvery blue. Reminds me of someone's lightsaber who was good XD.

Hunter's Girlfriend (which is one of my favorites at the moment) is a light blue with a silver shift. This color looks amazing with Jockey

Boomer Bile is a dark green with a lighter green glow. I am so excited to wear this as a crease color.

Fallen Survivor is a bronzey gold color with some pink sparklies.

Sacrifice is a red with blue sparkles and shift.

Safe House is slightly darker than Fallen Survivor but has silver sparklies instead.

Keith's truck is a metallic gold/bronze mix.

No Mercy is a lighter and less metallic version of Keith's Truck.

Death Star is a charcoal grey with silver sparklies.

The Force, Use It is one of the most epic colors ever. It is a really light mint green with the most awesome pink shift.

Double Tap is really dark taupe-y color with blue/silver shifts.

Jockey is a pink/gold neutral that looks really awesome with my skintone.

Lightspeed is glitter heaven. It is a black with lots of silver sparklies that make it look metallic.

Emperor is a bright blue matte with some blue sparklies to go with it.

So, here you have it folks. Now, these colors blend flawlessly. I have been using these colors for two weeks now and I can see some minis or full sizes in my future. I really hope the owner gets better and opens up shop soon!
